The following message was forwarded to all bishops from our Stake Presidency to provide a new update to the COVID-19 policies and procedures for meetings held in the stake center. Please read carefully and share as needed.
Bishops,
Under the direction of the Utah Area Presidency, and following the most recent direction from the CDC, we announce the following adjustments to our schedules and procedures related to COVID19.
Effective immediately masks are optional for all Church meetings and events in the stake. Social distancing should still be observed. For now, we will continue the staggered seating for Sacrament and second hour meetings. Those who desire may continue to wear masks. For now, we will continue to have a primary service each Sunday during second hour. Nursery classes will not be available. As directed in the recent letter from the stake presidency, those who need to may continue to worship at home, including partaking of the Sacrament if approved by their bishop.
All entrances to both facilities should be opened for Sunday meetings. The last ward scheduled in the building should ensure the building is properly secured each Sunday following completion of their second hour.
Please express our appreciation to all in our stake for their diligence and patience during these past months of restricted gathering, social distancing and limited interaction. We join all in giving thanks to Heaven for the development of vaccines and other medical practices that now allow us to return to a more normal interaction with each other.
We encourage you to invite all to consider the sacred lessons learned about the power and role of the family during this period. It is our sincere desire that those lessons will be noted in each home, remembered, and used to deepen our individual and family commitment to serve the Savior, Jesus Christ, and ready us for his eventual return.
Sincerely, Sandy UT Canyon View Stake Presidency,
William T. Whitworth
