In President Nelson’s October general conference talk “Let God Prevail,” he counseled us, “When we speak of gathering Israel on both sides of the veil, we are referring, of course, to missionary, temple, and family history work. . . . Anytime we do anything that helps anyone—on either side of the veil—to make and keep their covenants with God, we are helping to gather Israel.”
President Nelson also explained in his April conference talk “Hear Him,” “While worshipping in the temple is presently not possible, I invite you to increase your participation in family history, including family history research and indexing. I promise that as you increase your time in temple and family history work, you will increase and improve your ability to hear Him.”
As 2021 begins, we encourage each of you to find a way to “let God prevail” and “hear Him” through temple and family history work—prepare a name for temple ordinances, learn how to index, start your personal history, do a family history activity or share ancestors’ stories with your family. Family history consultants, Debbi Radack, Sue Odendahl, Marianne Bates and Ron Nielson are here to help you!
