General Authority Visit
The next Empty Nesters Family Home Evening is set for Monday, March 11, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. The get-together will be hosted by the Austins in their home at 1782 Sunrise Park Drive. This month’s speaker will be Elder Don Clarke, who was a general authority of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2006 to 2015. Elder Clarke spent most of his career as an executive in retail companies such as May Department Stores and Lord & Taylor.
Among other interests, he was involved with Ascend Humanitarian Alliance in beginning microcredit operations in Bolivia. Elder Clarke was president of the Bolivia Santa Cruz Mission from 2001 to 2004. He was Director of Church VIP Hosting from 2015 to 2018 and currently serves as District President over the Utah State Prison. Elder Clarke is passionate about our missionaries and their personal growth and success. He has personally mentored hundreds of missionaries. Their success and happiness are his passions. He would love to answer questions you each have about the missionary department, how we can best prepare ourselves, children and grandchildren to be better missionaries and how to better support our own missionaries. This promises to be a great evening. We are all going to learn so much!
